Armada Ventures / Pre-seed & Seed
Backing founders building infrastructure that fixes the timing, access, and coordination of money globally.

Money moves badly. It moves late, through the wrong channels, with too much friction and too little transparency. We back the founders building the underlying infrastructure that changes that: settlement rails, compliance architecture, data coordination, and the embedded tooling that makes global financial systems actually work for the people inside them.
We are business model agnostic. What we care about is whether the infrastructure is real, the market is structurally underserved, and the founder understands the regulatory terrain well enough to build something durable.
Our primary focus is pre-obvious companies in this space, at pre-seed and seed. We also invest opportunistically across adjacent regulated markets where the same timing, access, and coordination problems appear.
Settlement delays, payment cycles, and cash flow gaps that punish the people with the least margin for error. Infrastructure that compresses time as a feature, not an afterthought.
Regulated markets where the infrastructure assumes a customer who does not exist. New rails, embedded tooling, and compliance architecture built for who actually shows up.
Multi-party, cross-jurisdiction complexity that legacy systems were never designed to handle. Data infrastructure and orchestration layers that make global financial coordination possible.
Pre-seed and seed. First check or follow-on into rounds we believe in.
SaaS, transaction-based, licensing, embedded finance. We follow the infrastructure, not the revenue model.

Founder & General Partner
Ilona is a media-native investor with six years covering fintech for Forbes, a Wharton undergraduate degree, and a Kellogg MBA. She founded Bear and the Bull, a newsletter and media brand covering the infrastructure stories shaping financial services, and produces Money Memories, a podcast distributed by NPR affiliate Louisville Public Media.
